3 Times More C# Jobs Than VB.Net Jobs?
Anecdotally, there seems to be more C# jobs than VB.Net jobs, and they seem to pay more. Can this be quantified?
A search on Dice.com (done 11/9/07) is very revealing. A search
was done on C#, VB.Net, VB (which likely includes VB6 jobs as well), and
Visual Basic was done. There are almost three times more C# jobs
listed than VB.Net jobs. There are more jobs for VB and Visual
Basic, but not nearly as many jobs as C#, and these likely include VB6 jobs as
well.
Dice.Com Search - 11/9/2007
- C# - 7763 Jobs
- VB.Net - 2698 Jobs
- Visual Basic - 2740 Jobs
- Visual Basic.Net - 96 Jobs
- VB - 4617 Jobs

What about pay? According to a
Visual Studio Magazine Salary Survey, "Developers who program
primarily in C# earn 26 percent more than those who develop
primarily in Visual Basic .NET". This survey is
from 2003, but this gap has probably widened over time rather than
narrowed. This also confirms anecdotal evidence from consultants
and recruiters.

I just downloaded your trial software for VBConversions (to C#) and all
I can say is wow!
Great software! Keep up the great work.
Being in the industry as long as I have I have seen a lot of bad
software both in the corporations as well as with vendors. It has
always been a
pleasant surprise to find something that simply works as well as
advertised.
